About Erin Hogue

Fascinated by the concept of reality and the individuals participation and perspective of it, artist Erin Hogue uses photography to investigate this idea. Further enthralled with issues of identity and its fragmented and malleable construct. Erin’s work strips her subjects of their recognizable qualities.

Having earned her BFA in Photography from Ryerson University, and now living between Whistler, BC and Southern California, vast landscapes and the individuals interaction with them are her primary muse.

Erin’s work has been published internationally and she has held shows in both Canada and Australia as well as been featured in shows in London, Rome, Germany and across the United States. Erin’s shows include; Sony World Photography Award, Somerset House, UK, Stranger Than Fiction, Millepiani, IT and Altered Realities, PhotoPlace Gallery, USA. She has lectured at the University of California about the relationship between visual representation and cultural documentation, and spoken in Paris, Aspen, Vancouver and more.
